Bastille Day at Le Bouchon; Flaco's Tacos in Wrigleyville

—French bistro Le Bouchon, 1958 N. Damen Ave., will be open Sunday, July 14, to celebrate Bastille Day. To honor the French national holiday, Le Head Chef Jean Claude Poilevey and son, Sous Chef Oliver Poilevey, have created a prix fixe menu for $25 to be offered at the restaurant July 12-14. —The Mexican taqueria Flaco's Tacos is opening a location in Wrigleyville (3530 N. Clark St.) the week of July 8. The restaurant's tacos, burritos, tortas and tamales are made in its kitchens in the traditional Mexican fashion. Flaco's Wrigleyville is a "hybrid" between a full-service and quick-service restaurant. Guests will order at the counter, but then their food will be brought to them.

—For July, owners Lisa and Michael Kornick have extended mk The Restaurant's annual seasonal closure to undergo dining-room renovations. In August, the restaurant will reopen to reveal the refreshed interior design, new bar, and an enhanced lounge space with an expanded row of window seating. Along with the updated space, Chef Kornick and Executive Chef Erick Williams will introduce a new lounge-specific menu.

—Ada's Famous Deli, 14 S. Wabash Ave., has apparently closed—at least temporarily, according to ChicagoBusiness.com. Ada's is in the Silversmith Hotel. On its website, hotel management says, "We are currently refreshing our restaurant and bar, during this time we will be offering all of our guests a complimentary quick start breakfast served in the lobby of our hotel."

—Chicago Gourmets, marking its 16th year, is joining forces with Evanston French-American seafood restaurant Oceanique (celebrating its 25th year) for a degustation event Tuesday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at Oceanique, 505 Main St. Items will include Virginia Misty Point oysters, wild Maine diver scallops, sorbet, wild Delaware skate and Valrhona chocolate Marjolaine—all with different wines. —READY Coffee, a new independent coffee shop, has opened at 1562 N. Milwaukee Ave. All of the READY Coffee blends are roasted locally by legendary Chicago coffee roaster Greg Stivers. —Vital Bridges Center on Chronic Care, a program of Heartland Health Outreach, Inc., has announced the Chefs and the City Summer Tasting & Croquet Garden Party Sunday, July 28, at Galleria Marchetti, 825 W. Erie St., 12:30-5 p.m. Attendees will sip on cocktails courtesy of Grey Goose Vodka and sample items from more than 15 of Chicago's most elite and experienced chefs including Bill Kim of BellyQ, Shin Thompson of Kabocha, and Brian Huston of The Publican.
