The 15th-anniversary theatrical re-release of V for Vendetta, which now includes bonus contenta 13-minute, pre-recorded conversation with director James McTeigue and writer/producer Lana Wachowskiwill run at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., starting Friday, Oct. 30.
Based on the DC Comics/Vertigo graphic novel written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd, and presented by the Wachowskis and Joel Silver ( the masterminds behind the Matrix films ), V for Vendetta stars Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving.
In addition to V for Vendetta, the Music Box Theatre will be hosting screenings of director Alfonso Cuaron's 2027-set, sci-fi adventure Children of Men( 2006 ). And to lighten the mood ( only slightly ), the venue is also doing weekend matinee showings of director Henry Selick's The Nightmare Before Christmas ( 1993 ).
Note: Due to reduced capacity and socially distanced seating in both Music Box theaters, the larger theater will only seat 50 patrons per screening. Also, ticket purchases must be made online and in advance.
