On Monday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Rainbow Railroad, joined by the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Chicago chapter, will present a unique and timely virtual panel discussion entitled, "Lives at Stake: Implications of the U.S. Election for LGBTQI Displaced People."
The panel will address current conditions and potential post-election strategies and includes Chicago immigration attorney Mike Jarecki; Rainbow Railroad Executive Director Kimahli Powel; and Mira Patel, a fellow at the Truman National Security Project and former U.S. State Department appointee under the Obama administration. Patel helped launch the LGBTQI-focused Global Equality Fund and co-authored the first-ever Presidential Memorandum on international LGBT rights.
In addition, Uche Onwa of the Queer Detainee Empowerment Project in NYC; and Rainbow Railroad Manager of Programs Devon will take part.
