Lightfoot names next police superintendent
2020-04-02

Mayor Lori Lightfoot named former Dallas police Chief David Brown as the next leader of the Chicago Police Department at an April 2 press conference, The Chicago Tribune reported.

Daley picked longtime FBI veteran Jody Weis; Mayor Rahm Emanuel's first selection was New York City/Newark, New Jersey, policeman Garry McCarthy, who held the job from 2011 until 2015, when he was fired in the wake of the LaQuan McDonald shooting.
