LGBTQ Victory Fundthe only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ leaders to public officeendorsed 32 new openly LGBTQ candidates for 2020 races.
Among those receiving the latest round of endorsements are activist/attorney Jacob Meister, who is running for Cook County Circuit Court clerk; Yoni Pizer, who is running for the 12th District seat in the Illinois House of Representatives; incumbent state Rep. Lamont Robinson (5th District); and Maggie Trevor, who is vying for the 54th District seat in the Illinois House of Representatives.
Meister is running against at least three other candidates for the local position, including current state Sen. Iris Martinez. Now-state Sen. Sara Feigenholtz previously held the seat that Pizer (among several other candidates) are competing for in the primary election on March 17. Robinson is (so far) unopposed in the primary and general elections, thereby ensuring a second term. Trevor is running against Ryan Huffman in the Democratic primary, with the victor taking on Republican incumbent state Rep. Tom Morrison in November.
