On Sept. 30, MillerCoors presented checks to its LGBTQ nonprofit partners during a closing party at Lake View spot Sidetrack for the company's Tap Into Change program. Drag queen Dixie Lynn Cartwright was the emcee.
This summer-long initiative gives back $50,000 to local charities based on proceeds from total MillerCoors portfolio sales in 21 on-premise LGBTQ accounts. This year was the eighth and one of the best for the program, which has garnered more than $250,000 for local organizations.
Organizational recipients included A Just Harvest, About Face Theatre, Affinity, AIDS Foundation of Chicago, American Veterans for Equal Rights, Care for Real, Center on Addison, Center on Halsted, Chicago House, Heartland Alliance Health, Howard Brown Health, Illinois Safe Schools Alliance, Legacy Project, Leather Archives & Museum, Legal Council for Health Justice, Pride Arts Center and TPAN ( Test Positive Aware Network ).
