Reports: Would-be Vegas bomber targeted Jewish, LGBTQ communities
2019-08-10

A man who authorities say worked as a security guard was arrested and accused of plotting to firebomb a Las Vegas synagogue or a LGBTQ-centered nightclub/bar, CBS News reported.

An FBI-led anti-terrorism task force arrested Las Vegas resident Conor Climo—who could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if he is convicted—on Aug. 8.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Koppe ordered Climo to remain in federal custody pending an Aug. 23 court appearance on a federal firearms charge.

In a 2016 news report by Vegas station KTNV-TV, Climo talked about patrolling his neighborhood wearing battle gear and carrying an assault rifle and survival knife. Neighbors were concerned, but Climo was not arrested.
