Grammy-nominated out musician Marsha Malamet featured on new Jason Gould CD

LOS ANGELES—Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum songwriter and openly gay musician Marsha Malamet is featured on the new Jason Gould CD "Dangerous Man" released Dec. 15, 2017.

Malamet is a composer, songwriter, singer and coach, whose music has reached all corners of the globe.

Malamet met Jason Gould at a lecture, where he asked her to coach him on songwriting. From there the relationship transformed into them co-writing several songs together, including "Morning Prayer" for his self-released EP, "Jason Gould."

In 2012, Marsha co-wrote ( with Liz Vidal and Stephen Oberhoff ) the special end-credit song "Amazing" with Gould as vocalist, which was from the soundtrack "Scrooge and Marley," a gay Christmas Carol film produced by Sam I Am Films in Chicago.

The new CD "Dangerous Man" features four songs co-written by Malamet. The title cut is "Dangerous Man" ( Gould/Alan Roy Scott/Malamet ), plus there is "Morning Prayer: The Tribal Version" ( Gould/Liz Vidal/Malamet ), "All's Forgiven" ( Gould/Alan Roy Scott/Allan Rich/Malamet ), and "One Day" ( Gould/Malamet ).

The CD was produced by the legend that is Quincy Jones/Qwest Records.

About Marsha Malamet:

At the age of 21, Marsha Malamet made her solo recording debut, "Coney Island Winter," on Decca Records. It was engineered by Brooks Arthur. In addition, Marsha's song "Impatient Heart," co-written with Peter Allen, was the theme song for the first Off-Broadway production of the acclaimed lesbian drama, "Jane Chambers, Last Summer at Blue Fish Cove."

Her song "Love Don't Need A Reason", co-written with the late Peter Allen and Michael Callen, has become an iconic theme for the AIDS/HIV epidemic, recorded by more than 35 performers and gay choruses worldwide.

Malamet was Grammy-nominated for her songwriting involvement on the original Broadway cast CD "The Boy from Oz," starring Hugh Jackman.

Malamet's CD release, "The Natural Thing to Do," was the first in a three-part retrospective. This EP specifically reflects her life as an out woman performer. In the near future, Malamet plans to complete the retrospective collection with the CD entitled "Stay True."

Malamet was also featured on two compilation CD's, "A Love Worth Fighting For" and "Winter Moon," released by Streeter Records.
