The Chicago Chamber Choir ( CCC ), a 40-voice ensemble, is marking its 22nd season with three programs: a commentary on our world and the joy of singing in October, a consideration of the night sky and celestial bodies in December and an exploration of the complex nature of love in April.
The choir's season promises to be in step with the year's exuberant tone set by Sean Kirchner's Unclouded Day.
"Sing" ( Oct. 21-22 ) will feature works by Brahms, Rheinberger, Barber and others; "Seek" ( Dec. 9, 16-17 ) considers the night sky and the stars above us with works for choir and organ, with Esenvalds' Stars opening the concert; and Love ( April 21-22, 2018 ) will have the choir performing Barber's Reincarnations and Sarah Hopkins' Past Life Melodies.
