Stars on Ice to feature 2017 medalists and local hopefuls for 2018

( Rosemont, IL ) — Two 17-year-old phenoms captured gold at the 2017 National Championships, giving a youthful glow to U.S. Figure Skating. Nathan Chen, with his unprecedented technical prowess, is rapidly becoming Skating's next superstar, while Karen Chen is the first lady not named Wagner or Gold to sit atop the podium since 2011. The two Chens will headline the 2017 Stars on Ice tour that will arrive in Rosemont, IL on Saturday, May 6 for a 7:30 PM performance at the Allstate Arena.

The world is eagerly awaiting next year's Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, commencing in February 2018. Here in the United States the wait will not be quite as long, as the 2017 Stars on Ice tour will be the ultimate preview of the U.S. Figure Skating team that will compete at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Nathan Chen, the first man to land five quadruple jumps in one program, and Karen Chen, whose record-setting short program catapulted her to gold at the U.S. Nationals, will lead a stellar cast of medal hopefuls, including: three-time U.S. Champion and 2016 World Silver Medalist Ashley Wagner, two-time U.S. Champion Gracie Gold, and U.S. Ice Dance Champions and two-time World Medalists Madison Chock & Evan Bates. In addition to those with an eye on medaling next Winter, the 2017 Stars on Ice cast will also include three of the most accomplished skaters in U.S. history; reigning Olympic Ice Dance Gold Medalists Meryl Davis & Charlie White, and four-time U.S. Champion and Olympic Bronze Medalist Jeremy Abbott.
