ABC 7 Chicago noted that celebrity chef Rick Bayless closed four of his restaurants to support the movement. More than a dozen businesses in west suburban Aurora also closed as a show of solidarity in a predominantly Hispanic community.
"A Day Without Immigrants" actions took place in cities such as St. Paul, Minnesota; Philadelphia; Detroit; Washington, D.C.; Boston; Los Angeles; and Austin, Texas.
