An Avondale couple is asking for help in locating their two French bulldogs, who went missing after a burglary the morning of March 11, NBC 5 reported.

[UPDATE BELOW: The dogs have been found.]

David Wilk and Charlie Gurion, who live near the intersection of Belmont and Sacramento, returned home at 11 a.m. and found some items missing and two of their dogs running free. But two of their other dogs, a nine-month-old French bulldog named Pierre and a 2-year-old French bulldog named Rue, were gone.

Pierre is gray and weighs about 20 pounds. Rue, who is deaf, is white, has tan spots and weighs about 18 pounds. Persons with any information should contact Wilk at ( 815 ) 603-8177 or david@sharethis.com .

"We're devastated, these are our kids," Wilk told NBC5. "It's too much to handle. I feel like we've lost our children right now."

Wilk and Gurion are newlyweds. They were the first couple to obtain their marriage license Feb. 21, just hours after a federal judge ruled that Illinois' gay marriage ban was unconstitutional and said that marriages in Cook County could begin ahead of the state's planned June 1 starting date.

Here is a post from Facebook, noting that the dogs have been found as of March 12: "So 30-45 minutes ago we got a call from a man who said he thought he found our dogs. He saw our Craigslist post saying that they were missing and called our number. He confirmed what that they looked like and we immediately drove over. He found them in Humboldt Park last night before the storm while coming home from the laundromat with his kids. They took them back to their home and kept them safe.
