Chicago Stage Standard will be offering a workshop called , "HOW TO START YOUR OWN THEATRE COMPANY" led by Elayne LeTraunik from 1-5pm on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Pride Films and Plays rehearsal space, 1411 W. Wilson near the Wilson Red Line stop. Check in begins at 12:30pm.

The goal of this workshop is to help participants in the development of starting a theater company from the 'ground up.' The workshop includes valuable information on how to incorporate, apply for tax-exempt status, plan a full season, scout performance venues, fundraise, budget and much more. Discussion will follow about the importance of naming your organization, understanding the Chicago cultural landscape, understanding the critics and the Jeff Committee.

She is currently the Associate Artistic Director of Genesis Theatrical Productions and also on the staff of Chicago Stage Standard.

Refreshments and snacks will be served.

Cost of the workshop is $40. Half must be paid in advance to reserve your space. The balance may be paid on the day of the workshop. Additional members of your organization may attend for $25 each.
