William Wellman's silent movie WINGS will be presented at The Music Box Theatre accompanied by a live concert by Prima Vista Quartet on Sunday, April 9 at 1 p.m.

With over 2000 performances to its credit, the Prima Vista Quartet has become a benchmark in the world of film concerts; silent films musical accompaniment.

Composer Baudime Jam completed the score for WINGS in 2014.

The film concert WINGS has been endorsed by the World War I Centennial Commission ( WWICC ), established by the U.S. Congress, as an official project of the World War I commemoration.

It was the first ever Academy Award Winner for Best Picture in 1927.

"The best silent film accompaniment I've heard," said Lisa Nesselson of Variety.

WINGS, directed by William Wellman will be accompanied by the Prima vista Quartet on Sunday, April 9th at 1:00pm. The performance will take place at The Music Box Theatre located at 3733 North Southport Ave. For ticket and further information, please visit www.musicobxtheatre.com .

About The Prima Quartet:

A Silent Movie concert performed by the Prima Vista Quartet with an original score composed by Baudime Jam. The Prima Vista Quartet is composed of: ELZBIETA GLADYS - Violin 1, AMELIE PARADIS - Violin 2, BAUDIME JAM - Viola, LADISLAV SZATHMARY - Cello, MATTHIAS CHAMPON - Trumpet, CEDRIC BARBIER - Percussion

For 20 years, the Prima Vista Quartet interprets the original scores composed by Baudime Jam. The four musicians, sometimes joined by one or two guests, performed in many festivals in France, in Europe ( Germany, England, Spain, Italy, Poland, Russia ) and the world ( USA, Africa, China ), thus becoming the first string quartet to accompany silent films in the respect for the tradition and aesthetics created by the pioneers of the 7th Art in the 1920s.

Because music in film is the result of a meticulous and magical alliance with image, Prima Vista invites you to discover the full range of emotions of a string quartet at the service of the masterpieces of silent cinema. Each score is an invitation to indulge in a different and unique musical and cinematic world, in keeping with the diversity and uniqueness of each cinematographic work, in order to ensure consistency and compliance with the artistic intentions of the filmmakers.

About WINGS:

Jack Powell ( Charles Rogers ) is a young man passionate about motorsport. His neighbor, Mary Preston ( Clara Bow ), is madly in love with him but he does not pay any attention to her because he is in love with Sylvia, herself in love with the wealthy David Armstrong ( Richard Arlen ). When the United State engage in the First World War, Jack and David joined the Air Force to fight in France, and they soon become close friend. Mary, meanwhile, joined the Women's Motor Corp to get closer to Jack...

For the last two decades, the Music Box Theatre has been the premiere venue in Chicago for independent and foreign films. It currently has the largest theater space operated full time in the city.
