Dist. 1, Antonio Muñoz (D): He voted in favor of civil unions and was endorsed by Equality Illinois in 2012. In 2011, however, he voted in favor of a bill that would have allowed religious adoption agencies to reject gay parents. That vote was cast in committee, but the bill was rejected anyway. Dist. 3, Mattie Hunter (D): Equality Illinois endorsed Hunter in 2012. Springfield office: (217) 782-5966.

Dist. 5, Patricia Van Pelt Watkins(D): Watkins supports civil unions but has fallen short of coming out for marriage equality, according to a 2012 Huffington Post piece. Springfield office: (217) 782-6252.

Dist. 6, John Cullerton (D): Senate President Cullerton is a major force behind the push for marriage equality in Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-2728.

Dist. 7, Heather Steans (D): Steans is leading the charge to pass same-sex marriage in the Illinois Senate. Springfield office: (217) 782-8492.

Dist. 8, Ira Silverstein (D): Silverstein voted "present" on civil unions, and some advocates have reported that his position has wavered since. Springfield office: (217) 782-5500.

Dist. 9, Daniel Biss (D): Biss is backs the bill and is widely seen as supportive on LGBT issues. He moved from the House to the Senate this year, replacing Jeff Schoenberg who was absent in early January for the first marriage push. Springfield office: (217) 782-2119.

Dist. 10, John Mulroe (D): Mulroe was endorsed by Equality Illinois in 2012. Springfield office: (217) 782-1035.

Dist. 11, Martin A. Sandoval (D): Sandoval voted for civil unions and earned the endorsement of Equality Illinois in 2012. Springfield office: (217) 782-5304.

Dist. 12, Steven Landek (D): The Chicago Sun-Times reported last February that Landek fell short of backing same-sex marriage. He was not endorsed by Equality Illinois in 2012. Springfield office: (217) 782-0054.

Dist. 13, Kwame Raoul (D): Raoul voted for civil unions and comes endorsed by Equality Illinois. Raoul told CBS news that he didn't think President Obama's support for gay marriage hurt his re-election bid and that he didn't think backlash from gay marriage opponents would hurt Illinois lawmakers. Dist. 14, Emil Jones, III (D): Jones, a former Senate president, was among a group of African American leaders to release a letter in support of marriage equality this year. Springfield office: (217) 782-9573.

Dist. 15, Napoleon Harris, III (D): "I believe everyone deserves the same rights as it pertains to marriage," Harris said on his Chicago Sun-Times questionnaire. Harris replaces James Meeks, an opponent of gay rights. Springfield office: (217) 782-8066.

Dist. 16, Jacqueline "Jacqui" Collins (D): Collins had the endorsement of Equality Illinois in 2012. She voted for civil unions. Springfield office: (217) 782-1607.

Dist. 17, Donne Trotter (D): Trotter voted for the bill in the Senate Executive Committee earlier this year. Trotter came Equality Illinois endorsed in 2012, and he voted for civil unions. Springfield office: (217) 782-3201.

Dist. 18, Bill Cunningham (D): Cunningham previously told the Chicago Sun-Times that he could support civil unions but not same-sex marriage. Springfield office: (217) 782-5145.

Dist. 19: Michael Hastings (D): Triblocal reported that Hastings supported civil unions but not same-sex marriage. Springfield office: (217) 782-9595.

Dist. 20, Iris Y. Martinez (D): Martinez voted for the bill in committee earlier this year. She also voted in favor of civil unions and was endorsed by Equality Illinois. Springfield office: Springfield office: (217) 782-8191.

Dist. 21, Michael Connelly (R): Connelly was among a group of lawmakers to file a court document against lawsuits that seek marriage equality in Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-8192.

Dist. 22, Michael Noland (D): Noland was a "yes" on civil unions and was endorsed by Equality Illinois in 2012. Noland told the Daily Herald he supports gay marriage. Springfield office: (217) 782-7746.

Dist. 23, Thomas Cullerton (D): Cullerton told the Daily Herald that supported equal marriage. "Yes it should be legal," he wrote. "We should not deprive citizens of rights based off their personal choices." Springfield office: (217) 782-9463.

Dist. 24, Kirk Dillard (R): Dillard headed a group of lawmakers who filed a brief against two lawsuits that aim to end the state's ban on same-sex marriage this August. Springfield office: (217) 782-8148.

Dist. 25, Jim Oberweis (R): Oberweis, owner of the Oberweis dairy empire, has long been the ire of LGBT activists for his anti-gay stances. He is currently calling on Illinois Republican Chair Pat Brady to resign, after Brady advocated for the legalization of gay marriage in Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-0471.

Dist. 26, Dan Duffy (R): Duffy voted against civil unions. In a questionnaire last fall, he told the Daily Herald that he felt civil unions already granted legal benefits to same-sex couples and that marriage was a religious sacrament that the state should not change. Dist. 27, Matt Murphy (R): Murphy voted against the bill in the Senate Executive Committee in January. He also voted against civil unions. Springfield office: (217) 782-4471.

Dist. 28, Dan Kotowski (D): Kotowski voted for civil unions and was endorsed by Equality Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-3875.

Dist. 29, Julie Morrison (D): The Glencoe News reported last year that Morrison is undecided on the issue. Springfield office: (217) 782-3650.

Dist. 30, Terry Link (D): Link voted for the bill in committee earlier this year. Link was Equality Illinois endorsed and voted for civil unions. Springfield office: (217) 782-8181.

Dist. 31, Melinda Bush (D): "I will support the Marriage Equality Act. It is a civil rights Issue, and equal rights are afforded to all citizens via the Constitution of the United States of America," Bush wrote in her Daily Herald candidate questionnaire. Springfield office: (217) 782-7353.

Dist. 32, Pamela J. Althoff (R): Althoff voted "no" on civil unions two years ago, but sources suggest that her vote might be up for grabs this time around. Springfield office: (217) 782-8000.

Dist. 33, Karen McConnaughay (R): McConnaughay told the Daily Herald she would oppose legislation legalizing gay marriage. Springfield office: (217) 782-1977.

Dist. 34, Steve Stadelman (D): Stadelman's stance has not been widely publicized. Springfield office: (217) 782-8022.

Dist. 35, Dave Syverson (R): Syverson voted against civil unions. He criticized Republican chair Pat Brady for coming out in favor of gay marriage but has not asked Brady to step down, according to WBEZ. "His role as chairman should be to concentrate on uniting the party, and not dividing the party," Syverson said. Springfield office: (217) 782-5413.

Dist. 36, Mike Jacobs (D): Jacobs voted for civil unions. He was endorsed by Equality Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-5957.

Dist. 37, Darin M. LaHood (R): LaHood was appointed in 2011. LaHood was among a group of lawmakers to file a court document against two lawsuits that seek marriage equality in Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-1942.

Dist. 38, Sue Rezin (R): Rezin told the Chicago Sun-Times she would vote against the bill. "I believe in the traditional definition of marriage, which is between a man and a woman," she said. "That won't change." Springfield office: (217) 782-3840.

Dist. 39, Don Harmon (D): Harmon voted for the bill in the Senate Executive Committee. Harmon was a "yes" for civil unions and scored the endorsement of Equality Illinois. He is seen as a supporter of LGBT rights. Springfield office: (217) 782-8176.

Dist. 40, Toi Hutchinson (D): Hutchinson was a "yes" for civil unions, and she comes endorsed by Equality Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-7419.

Dist. 41, Christine Radogno (R): Radogno voted against the bill in committee over concerns that it failed to protect religious institutions, but she expressed hesitancy over that vote and said she saw room for compromise. She voted "no" on civil unions in 2010, but her stance on LGBT issues has sometimes trended toward supportive. "I've always had a very good relationship with the leaders of the gay community," she told Windy City Times in 2008. "They've been very reasonable and helpful, and I've tried to be the same with them." Springfield office: (217) 782-9407.

Dist. 42, Linda Holmes (D): Holmes voted for civil unions and was endorsed by Equality Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-0422.

Dist. 43, Pat McGuire (D): McGuire was appointed in 2012. His position has not been widely publicized. Springfield office: (217) 782-8800.

Dist. 44, Bill Brady (R): In 2010, Brady said he wanted to pass an Illinois Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage. Springfield office: (217) 782-6216.

Dist. 45, Tim Bivins (R): Bivins opposed civil unions, and he said he would oppose the legalization of gay marriage, the Chicago Tribune reported. "If you believe in a creator and you believe that we're his creation, this issue's already been decided a long time ago," Bivins told the Tribune. Springfield office: (217) 782-0180.

Dist. 46, David Koehler (D): Koehler sponsored civil union legislation in 2010 and is largely seen as supportive of LGBT rights. Springfield office: (217) 782-8250.

Dist. 47, John Sullivan (D): Sullivan voted against civil unions in 2010. Springfield office: (217) 782-2479.

Dist. 48, Andy Manar (D): The State Journal-Register reported last year that Manar said he would have to look at an equal marriage bill to see how it dealt with churches. Springfield office: (217) 782-0228.

Dist. 49, Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D): "I believe the government has a responsibility to allow individuals to live and make decisions with dignity and respect for their personal choices," Bertino-Tarrant said in her Patch.com questionnaire. Dist. 50, Wm. Sam McCann (R): Yahoo News reported that McCann said the failed push for marriage in January showed where Illinois was on the issue. "I think the Legislature is a microcosm of the state's society, and it proves once again that the state of Illinois is not ready for gay marriage," Sen. Sam McCann said. Dist. 51, Chapin Rose (R): Rose voted against civil unions and was elected with the endorsement of Sen. Dale Righter, who strongly opposed the equal marriage bill in committee earlier this year. Springfield office: (217) 558-1006.

Dist. 52, Michael Frerichs (D): Frerichs voted for civil unions and was endorsed by Equality Illinois. Springfield office: Springfield office: (217) 782-2507.

Dist. 53, Jason Barickman (R): WJBC reported that Barickman said Republicans were divided on the issue of marriage, but he did not say where he stands. "Abraham Lincoln is an example of someone who promoted things like equality. I think this is a good discussion for our party to have. I think we are going to have it over the next few days. We'll see where the vote goes in the next day or two in the Senate," Barickman told WJBC. Springfield office: (217) 782-6597.

Dist. 54, Kyle McCarter (R): McCarter voted "no" on civil unions. Last year, McCarter introduced a proposed amendment the civil union act that would grant religious foster care agencies the right to turn away civil union spouses. Springfield office: (217) 782-5755.

Dist. 55, Dale Righter (R): Righter voiced strong opposition to the bill in committee earlier this year. Righter voted against civil unions and voted in favor of a bill in committee that would have allowed religious adoption agencies the right to reject gay parents in 2011. Dist. 56, Bill Haine (D): Haine voted against civil unions and is pushing for a constitutional amendment that would define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Springfield office: (217) 782-5247.

Dist. 57, James Clayborne, Jr. (D): Clayborne voted "yes" on civil unions and was endorsed by Equality Illinois. Springfield office: (217) 782-5399.

Dist. 58, David S. Luechtefeld (R): Luechtefeld voted against the bill in committee this January. He also opposed civil unions and voted in favor of an anti-gay adoption bill in committee in 2011. Springfield office: (217) 782-8137.

Dist. 59, Gary Forby (D): Forby voted against civil unions two years ago. He took some heat last June for suggesting that Chicago should be kicked out of Illinois, according to the Huffington Post. Springfield office: (217) 782-5509.
