Suzanne Westenhoefer was expected to be the first-ever out lesbian or gay comedian (per Olivia Cruises and Resorts announcement) to perform on Late Night with David Letterman, this past Tuesday, March 18.
CBS's military Jag show recently had a plot with a woman head of a naval command being accused of sexually harassing a man on her ship. The kicker? She is a closeted lesbian, so the Jag officers, while they could not 'tell,' used the info to convince themselves of her innocence.
The L.A. Gay Men's Chorus gets another publicity boost by way of HBO, AP reports. Last year, several members of the group appeared on an episode of NBC's Will & Grace in an episode where Matt Damon's character competes with Jack for a spot on the chorus. This year, members of the chorus appear on HBO's Six Feet Under as David (Michael C. Hall) auditions to join the Chorus.
The new film, Boat Trip, starring Cuba Gooding Jr., may lose wind before it sets sail, according to MSNBC. Posters to a gay Web site say they'll boycott the film if the trailers are any indication of how offensively stereotypical the whole movie may be. Though Artisan films says several gay consultants were used to create the movie that features Gooding playing a straight man accidentally caught on a gay cruise. Gooding has to play gay when he falls for a female crewmember who likes gay men. |
