Get your dog bathed at Red Door's Dog Wash. Dog washes are $10 ( including a towel dry ) , all of which goes directly to the animals at the Red Door shelter. Is your dog water-phobic? Get a cleaning spritz and a quick brushing for $5.

Good Luck Martini Bar at Mars Gallery

1139 W. Fulton Market

6-9 p.m.

Change the animals' luck by stopping in at Mars Gallery's opening for artist Kevin Luthardt. The gallery opening is free, but all proceeds from the Martini Bar will benefit the homeless animals at Red Door. Details: www.marsgallery.com .

Celebrity Rehab Bark-B-Que

Bring your dog to this end-of-summer celebration to help support the renovation and expansion of the Anti-Cruelty Society's dog rehabilitation center. $65 per person includes beer, wine, soft drinks and hors d'oeuvres for humans, treats and fresh cold water for the dogs. 4th Annual Ride or Stride for Rescues

Cook County Forest Preserve at the Bunker Hill picnic site in Skokie.

Join bikers, walkers, joggers and bladers who will be raising money to support ARFhouse Chicago. Choose a 15-mile bike ride or 5K walk, set up your personal fundraising page and get ready for fun!
