WTTW to air film on homelessness
WTTW-11 will broadcast the hour-long documentary film @home Wed., Dec. 17, at 9 p.m., raising awareness about the issue of homelessness in the Chicago area.
@homea film by Susanne Suffredin and produced by Chicago's Kindling Groupfollows social-media activist Mark Horvath ( @hardlynormal ) on an 11,000-mile cross-country road-trip into tent cities and under bridges as well as by-the-week motels to introduce viewers to the population of people living in the United States without permanent housing.
To build on Horvath's model, the producers of @home are partnering with local homeless service organizations to run a social-media campaign during the holiday season using #Thankful4Home, asking Chicagoans to share why they're thankful for a home during Thanksgiving and through the New Year.
More information about Horvath and his campaign is at InvisiblePeople.tv .
