Local tour company Chicago Detours will present a 20-minute virtual presentation on Chicago's gay history Monday, April 27, at 6 p.m. as part of its ongoing "Historic Happy Hour for Curious People" series.

In the talk, "LGBT History of Chicago Beyond Boystown" tour guide Marie Rowley will share photos and archival images to tell the stories of gay Chicagoans from the 19th century through the 1970s. Topics will include the creation of the country's first gay=rights organization, neighborhoods, bars and nightlife, and the origins of the first Pride Parade.

Chicago Detours' interactive virtual tours are free, with donations suggested to support their small business while operations are suspended. Virtual presentations take place via Zoom. Registration is required at www.chicagodetours.com/architecture-tours .
