Victory Gardens unveils
2020-21 season,
streaming 'Fun Home'
Victory Gardens Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director Chay Yew and Executive Director Erica Daniels, announced the lineup for its 202021 season.
The venue's 46th sSeason will include the Chicago premiere of Poor Yella Rednecks by Qui Nguyen; the world premiere of In Every Generation by Ali Viterbi; the acclaimed Chicago play Exit Strategy by Ike Holter; the Chicago premiere of cullud wattah by Erika Dickerson-Despenza, and the Chicago premiere of Heroes of the Fourth Turning by Will Arbery.
Note: Victory Gardens has canceled its productions of Dhaba on Devon Avenue and Right To Be Forgotten due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 202021 season is set to begin in September 2020. Subscriptions are currently available at VictoryGardens.org or 773-871-3000.
In addition, Victory Gardens announced a two-week-only streaming event of its critically acclaimed production of Fun Home, from the 2017-18 season. With music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, Fun Home will host 12 performances running May 12-24.
Each digital performance will admit 259 patronsthe same number of seats in the Victory Gardens house. Tickets, priced at $20 each, are available at VictoryGardens.org .
