DIFFA's 'Dining by Design' Nov. 1-3 at the Mart
The HIV/AIDS organization DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) will hold its annual "Dining by Design" Nov. 1-3 on the eighth floor of the Merchandise Mart. The event showcases creative three-dimensional dining installations that are works of art.
"Cocktails by Design"will take place Thursday, Nov. 1, 5:30-8:30 p.m. The public viewing is Friday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., while the "Table Hop & Taste" is Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The "Dining By Design" gala will be Saturday, Nov. 3, 7-11:30 p.m.

'Healing the Rift, Part 3' Nov. 2 in Naperville
Linden Oaks at Edward and The Community Network of Professionals Supporting LGBTQ Youth will present "Healing the Rift Part 3: Supporting the Emergence of LGBT Individuals with Healthy Spirituality" Friday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Edward Outpatient Center, 1335 North Mill Street, Naperville.

19th Annual SOFA exhibit Nov. 1-4
The Chicago-based Art Fair Company will present the international art fair SOFA (Sculpture Objects & Functional Art + Design) CHICAGO 2012 at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Ave., Friday, Nov. 2-Sunday, Nov. 4.
There will also be an opening-night preview Thursday, Nov. 1, 5-7 p.m., for VIP passholders only.
SOFA CHICAGO 2012 will feature nearly 70 art galleries and dealers from 10 countries along with special exhibits by museums, universities and arts organizations as well as an extensive lecture series, all included in the admission price.
