Rachael Sage has new album, tour

Singer/songwriter Rachael Sage has announced the release of her forthcoming full-length studio album, Choreographic, due May 20.

Through this self-described "ballet-pop," Sage delivers a tribute to her very first love: dance.

Also, Sage has confirmed appearances at SXSW in March as well as a new tour, with a stop in Chicago on Thursday, June 9 (changed from June 10), at Uncommon Ground Edgewater.

Fresh off the heels of her 13th song placement on Lifetime TV's Dance Moms, Sage's music has reached an ever-widening audience since her previous release Blue Roses, amassing more than 9.5 million views on YouTube.

'Nominee Night' May 17 at Sidetrack

Local musical-theater performers will gather and 2016 Jeff Award Nominees will be honored at "Nominee Night" on Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m. at Sidetrack, 3349 N. Halsted St.

Pride Films and Plays is partnering with Chicago's Buzz On Stage to present the event.

All proceeds from the evening will benefit the New Musical Initiative at Pride Films and Plays, including the upcoming free workshop of Adam Mathias and Jonathan Monro's A History of Summer, the story of Fire Island, at Theatre Wit on Tuesday-Wed., June 28-29.

ABT's 'Little Shop' April 29-May 29

American Blues Theater ( ABT ) continues its 30th-anniversary season—"Seeing is Believing"—with the comedic rock musical Little Shop of Horrors, with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, music by Alan Menken, directed by Jonathan Berry, and music direction by Ensemble member Austin Cook.

Little Shop of Horrors runs April 29-May 29 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave.

Rhino to release vinyl specials April 16

In anticipation for Record Store Day ( April 16 ), Rhino has curated a collection of vinyl for 2016, including 27 limited-edition 12-, 10-and seven-inch releases.

Just a few of the items include releases by a-ha ( Hits South Africa; $14.98 ), David Bowie ( 12-inch picture disc of The Man Who Sold The World; $21.98 ), Madonna ( 12-inch pink vinyl of "Like a Virgin" and other hits; $14.98 ), The Notorious B.I.G. ( 12-inch "money" green vinyl of "Mo Money, Mo Problems"; $14.98 ), The Monkees ( 10-LG set of classics on various colors of vinyl; $134.98 ) and Alanis Morissette ( 12-inch translucent splatter 180-gram vinyl of The Demos, 1994-1998; $21.98 ).

Kinsey Sicks at Davenport's April 13

The Kinsey Sicks will hold the world premiere of the new musical Electile Dysfunction 2016: Hard Choices, Firm Choices on Wed., April 13, 8-9:30 p.m., at Davenport's Piano Bar, 1393 N. Milwaukee Ave.

In the show, Rachel, Trampolina, Trixie and Winnie campaign to become the first Dragapella® beauty-shop quartet to be elected president of the United States on the Republican ticket.

'Toast to the Queens' April 7 at Playhouse

Windy City Playhouse, 3014 W. Irving Park Rd., and drag-queen show Lips will celebrate the current Playhouse production The Explorers Club with "Toast to the Queens," a high-energy post-show performance by three of Lips' talents: Ariel Sinclair, Skyla Versai and All Beef Patty.

The event will take place Thursday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m. Doors and the bar will open at 6 p.m. There will also be a red carpet and photo booth as well as a drag show with late-night entertainer Tom Boi hosting.

Lollapalooza lineup announced

Radiohead, J. Cole, Lana del Rey, Ellie Goulding, rapper Future, LCD Soundsystem and Red Hot Chili Peppers are among those headlining this year's Lollapalooza festival that will take place July 28-31 in Grant Park.

This year marks the festival's 25th anniversary.

Among the dozens of other acts are St. Lucia, Griz, The Front Bottoms, Wolf Alice, Jackal, Flatbush Zombies and Alessia Cara.

One-day tickets are on sale now. VIP, platinum and hotel packages are also available.

Orchestra council announces awards

The Illinois Council of Orchestras ( ICO ) has announced the 2016 recipients of its annual awards for excellence in the field of music performance and for support of musical organizations.

Some of the awardees include the Elgin Symphony Orchestra ( Professional Orchestra of the Year ), Lakeview Orchestra ( Community Orchestra of the Year ), Gregory Hughes ( Conductor of the Year, Community Orchestra category ) and Friends of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra ( Guild of the Year ).

Presentation of the ICO Awards will take place through July at local concerts and other events of the winning orchestras. For the full list of honorees, visit ILCouncilOrchestras.org .
