Trans Day of Remembrance
Each year, Transgender Day of Remembrance ( TDOR ) events throughout the world are held Nov. 20 to honor the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence in the past year.
TDOR 2015an evening of reflection, discussion and advocacywill take place Friday, Nov. 20, 6:30-8 p.m., on the third floor of the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St.
Transformative Justice Law Project of Illinois will host another remembrance, which will take place 6-8 p.m. at 33 E. Congress Pkwy., Room 101. The event will include performances by Chicago-based trans artists and speakers as well as a memorial service to honor and celebrate the lives of trans people who have passed away in the last year.

Alliance youth summit Nov. 6-7
The Illinois Safe Schools Alliance will host its annual Education in Action youth summit Nov. 6-7 at the Alliance offices and Chicago State University, respectively.
The summit is an opportunity to focus that leadership and address strategies in key areas, including addressing school push out and working toward restorative discipline practices; confronting identity based bias; and creating inclusive, culturally aware curriculum. In addition, the Legacy Project is slated to bring its interactive exhibit, the "Legacy Wall," to the summit.
Midwest summit at Center Nov. 5-6
Equality organizations from Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming will convene Nov. 5-6 at Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St.
The annual autumn Equality Federation Midwest/West Leadership Summit, convened by the Equality Federation and hosted by Equality Illinois, will bring together executives from LGBT-rights organizations from these states.
