Lakeview Orchestra is performing a fundraising concert for the victims of the Orlando shooting on June 28, 2016. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Orlando charity, OneOrlando. Works include Ries' Symphony No. 2, Barber's Adagio for Strings and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, featuring world renowned soloist Rachel Barton Pine.

About Lakeview Orchestra: Lakeview Orchestra is the Illinois 2016 Community Orchestra of

the year. It is an all volunteer community orchestra based in the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago. Founded in 2013, Lakeview Orchestra has received critical acclaim for its performances from Chicago Classical Review and 98.7 WFMT. The orchestra performs more every year than any other community orchestra in the City of Chicago. This year, the swept the Illinois Council of Orchestras ( ICO ) annual awards, winning three awards out of three for which they were eligible: Community Orchestra of the Year, Conductor of the for Artistic Director Gregory Hughes, and Volunteer of the Year for Development Coordinator Taylor Scott. Lakeview Orchestra's wins in three categories in a single year is an unprecedented achievement for a community orchestra.

About Rachel Barton Pine, violinist: Heralded as a leading interpreter of the great classical , international concert violinist Rachel Barton Pine thrills audiences with her technique, lustrous tone and emotional honesty. With an infectious joy in musicmaking and a passion for connecting historical research to performance, Pine transforms audiences' of classical music. This season Pine performs concertos by Beethoven, Brahms, Bruch, Dvorak, Fairouz, Mozart, Sibelius and Vivaldi, with orchestras including the Santa Rosa Symphony, the New Mexico Philharmonic, and the Flagstaff, Windsor, and Gainesville Symphony Orchestras. She continues her recital tour of the Complete Bach Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin and a life size video installation of her will be the culmination of a new Musical Instrument Museum exhibit about master violin makers.

In March, 2016 Avie Records released Pine's performance of J.S. Bach's Six Sonatas and Partitas for Violin. Pine collaborated with conductor Sir Neville Marriner and The Academy of St. in the Fields for Mozart: Complete Violin Concerto, Sinfonia Concertante, her debut album on Avie.

Pine has appeared as soloist with many of the world's most prestigious ensembles, including the Chicago Symphony.the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, and the Netherlands Radio Kamer Filharmonie. She has worked with such renowned conductors as Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta, Erich Leinsdorf, Neeme Jarvi and Marin Alsop.

She performs on the "exSoldat" Joseph Guarnerius del Gesu (Cremona 1742).
