Iddy Id art exhibition Aug. 14 at Space 1858
Iddy Id Design will present a group exhibition of new works featuring mixed media, visual and performing artists.
"A.U.C.T.I.O.N." will be a one-night-only run Friday, Aug. 14, at Space 1858, 1858 W. Grand Ave.
Several local and out-of-state artists will be featured, including Iddy Id Design, Ayodele Drum and Dance, Nish Hamilton, Alycia Davis, Jeremy Royster, Wanda Rosado-Johnson, Kia Givhan and Kim Ferguson, among others.
In a release, organizers stated, "The focus of A.U.C.T.I.O.N. is to create a space for Black culture to thrive and be appreciated and elevated. All art performed and displayed transcends over decades of injusticeand pridein African-American life."

Frankie Knuckles CD released
Defected Records has released House Masters Frankie Knuckleswith tracks the late DJ personally selected, according to a press release.
The two-CD set is a charity release in collaboration with Def Mix Management and the estate of Frankie Knuckles. A few of the tracks include Knuckles' mix of Inner City's "Whatcha Gonna Do With My Lovin'," an extended version of Adeva's "Beautiful Love," Knuckles' "The Whistle Song" ( Sound Factory Mix ), Rufus & Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" ( Hallucinogenic Version ) and Pet Shop Boys' "Left To My Own Devices" ( Frankie Knuckles Royal Piano Version ).
All profits are donated directly to The Frankie Knuckles Fund/Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Black Alphabet Film Festival July 23-26
The Black Alphabet Film Festival ( BAFF ) returns for its third outing of showcasing films and other works that highlight and explore the Black LGBTQ and same-gender-loving ( SGL ) experience on July 23-26.
This year BAFF's international film festival will now take place beginning Thursday, July 23, and closing on Sunday, July 26, at Center on Halsted and a venue to be determined in the near future.
Tickets will be available for purchase as of early June.
BAFF is conducting an Indiegogo campaign at igg.me/at/BAFF2015. The campaign launched April 17 and ends July 17. Last year, the festival raised $3,120; this year's goal is $5,000.

Kelly Clarkson tour in Rosemont Aug. 1
American Idol and Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson has announced her 2015 "Piece By Piece" tour.
The 36-city tour, promoted exclusively by Live Nation, will start on July 11 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and culminate on Sept. 20 in Camden, New Jersey. It stops at Rosemont's Allstate Arena on Saturday, Aug. 1.
Pentatonix and singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson will join Clarkson on the tour.
