'Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli' Feb. 1
Pride Films and Plays will bring back two leading actresses from its recent acclaimed production of the musical The Boy From Oz in a new show entitled Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli—Once in a Lifetime: The London Palladium Concert—A Tribute.
The show will feature Nancy Hays ( as Judy Garland ) and Michelle Lauto ( as Liza Minnelli ), with music direction and orchestral arrangements by Robert Ollis ( co-producer ). Accompanied by a jazz combo, this lively cabaret show will feature those solos, duets and medleys that are Judy and Liza classics.
It will preview Sunday, Jan. 31 ( at 7 p.m. ), at Uptown Underground, 4707 N. Broadway, with the show on Monday, Feb. 1 ( at 7:30 p.m. ). Tickets are $15-$25; call 773-867-1946 or order online at www.uptownunderground.net .

Chicago Dancemakers Forum ( CDF ) has announced its annual call for proposals for its Lab Artist Awards in 2016.
Through $15,000 cash awards complemented by a full year of mentorship and professional development, CDF supports choreographers as they explore and develop new work.

'Dynamic Divas' thru Jan. 24
Black Ensemble Theater Founder and CEO Jackie Taylor will present Dynamite Divas, A Tribute to Women of Soul at the Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N. Clark St., through Sunday, Jan. 24.
The cast includes Shari Addison ( Aretha Franklin ), Rhonda Preston ( Nancy Wilson ), Rashada Dawan ( Gladys Knight ), Kylah Frye ( Ensemble ), Jessica Seals ( Ensemble ), Cherise Thomas ( Ensemble ), Donald Craig Manuel ( Hubert ), Daniel O'Brian Phillips ( Donny Hathaway ), Tricia Trible ( Ensemble ) and Demetrius Spidle ( Ensemble ).
