DIFFA event on March 3

The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS/Chicago ( DIFFA/Chicago ) Auxiliary Board will host its fourth annual DIFFArence event on Thursday, March 3, at The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., 6-9 p.m.

The event will have a burlesque theme, with dancers from Chicago Starlets and Naughty Little Cabaret performing. Tickets are $75 until Feb. 25, and $100 after that date; visit DIFFAChicago.org .

Exhibit spotlights women and HIV/AIDS

The University of Illinois at Chicago is presenting "In Plain Sight: A Women's History of HIV/AIDS in Chicago," an exhibition featuring oral histories, photos, documents and hand-written stories from Chicago women living with HIV.

"In Plain Sight" will run through Saturday, April 2 ( on Thursdays through Saturdays ), at the Pop Up JUST Art Center, 1255 S. Halsted St.

The exhibition and corresponding project are the result of collaboration between the UIC-based History Moves project and Chicago participants in the Women's Interagency HIV Study ( WIHS ), a 23-year-old clinical research study on women living with HIV.

Admission is free and open to the public; call 312-413-2458 to arrange group tours. For more info, visit historymoves.org/inplainsight/ .

Former Red Dog Space reopens

The former Red Dog space has reopened as Annex, 1958 W. North Ave.

The space played a key role in Chicago's second wave of house music throughout the 1990s as Red Dog nightclub—once a launching pad for deejays like Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Cajmere ( aka Green Velvet ), Mark Grant, DJ Heather, Johnny Fiasco, Spencer Kinsey and more.

Annex is open every Friday and Monday 10 p.m.-4 a.m. and Saturday 10 p.m.-5a.m.; other days reserved for private and select special events. See AnnexNightclub.com .
