TPAN presenting 'Barlesque 8'
The Chicago agency Test Positive Aware Network ( TPAN ) has announced the latest edition of its annual online fundraiser with "Barlesque 8: Bedtime Stories."
On Nov. 5-22, 16 bartender contestants will raise funds in person and online at Barlesque.org . As money is raised, photos of contestants advance from the contestants being fully dressed to wearing significantly less clothing.
The kickoff party will take place Thursday, Nov. 5, 7-10 p.m. at Uptown Underground, 4707 N. Broadway. See Barlesque.org .
Maserati dealership opening in Winnetka
In celebration of the grand opening of its new Maserati home located in Winnetka, Illinois, Fields Maserati is holding two private receptions.
Guests will have the opportunity, among other things, to see and test-drive the latest Maserati models.

Buck Angel event in Oak Park Nov. 6
Transgender activist/adult-film producer Buck Angel will be at the main Oak Park Library, 834 Lake St., on Friday, Nov. 6, 8-11 p.m., for a screening and discussion of his documentary film Mr. Angel ( NR, 2013, 68 min. ), which details his experiences as a female-to-male transgender man.
Mr. Angel is not rated and includes mature content. This after-hours event is for ages 21+ only. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available.
This event is part of the library's Humanity 101 series and is presented in partnership with PFLAG. See OPPL.org .
Mitchell/Wachowski event Nov. 8
On Sunday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m., at Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., Unabridged Bookstore and the Music Box will present an evening with David Mitchell, best-selling author of The Bone Clocks and Cloud Atlas, and Lana Wachowski, director and writer of The Matrix Trilogy, Bound and V for Vendetta, in celebration of Mitchell's new novel, Slade House.
Mitchell and Wachowski will converse about Slade House, Mitchell's previous works, literature and art. A book-signing will follow the program.

Tharp's 50th anniv. Nov. 5-8
The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 E. Congress Pkwy., will host "Twyla Tharp: 50th Anniversary Tour,"including two Chicago premieres, "Preludes and Fugues" and "Yowzie"Nov. 5-8.
