Black feminist symposium May 20-21
The Black Feminist Futures Symposium will take place Friday-Saturday, May 20-21 at the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art at Northwestern University, 40 Arts Circle Dr., Evanston.
University of Southern California professor Kara Keeling, Rutgers University professor Nicole Fleetwood, University of Chicago professor Cathy Cohen and George Mason University assistant professor Zakiyyah Jackson will participate in an opening roundtable at 5-7 p.m. on May 20, with an opening reception at 7-8 p.m.
The following day, there will be various panels, with speakers such as Northwestern University postdoctoral fellow Kai M. Green, University of Illinois at Chicago professor Roderick Ferguson, Yale University professor Jafari Allen and Yale University assistant professor Vanessa Agard-Jones, among others.

'Queer Prom' May 20 in Pilsen
"Queer Prom 2016" will take place Saturday, May 20, 6:30-11 p.m., at the National Museum of Mexican Art, 1852 W. 19th St.
There will be food and entertainment, with the latter including a performance by Sindy Vicious.
