CGMC shows to honor Sondheim
Chicago Gay Men's Chorus' ( CGMC's ) spring show, "We're Still Here"a celebration of lyricist/composer Stephen Sondheim's 85th birthdaywill take place May 16, 23 and 24.
The show will take attendees on a journey of a love story set to some gems from Sondheim's greatest shows, newly arranged for the chorus, including Company, Follies, Anyone Can Whistle, Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday in the Park with George, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story and others.
The May 16 show is 8 p.m. at the Skokie's North Shore Center for the Performing Arts; the May 23 show is 8 p.m. at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance; and the May 24 show is 3 p.m. at Naperville's Wentz Concert Hall.

Chorale has May 19 concert
The Chicago Artists Choralea new group of more than 50 members from the area's professional arts communitywill present the second concert of its inaugural season on May 19 at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave., at 7:30 p.m.
The first portion of the concert will focus on composers from the British Isles, with songs by British composers Ralph Vaughan Williams and John Rutter as well as Irish composer Charles Stanford. The second portion will highlight the importance of U.S. ensemble singing through each decade from 1940 to 2015.
