Carey Mulligan, Bradley Cooper and Dame Helen Mirren are among some of the Hollywood stars nominated at this year's Tony Awards.
The Audience star Mirren will face Mulligan ( Skylight ), Elisabeth Moss, Ruth Wilson and Geneva Carr in the Best Leading Actress in a Play category, while Cooper ( The Elephant Man ) will vie with Bill Nighy, Steven Boyer, Ben Miles and Alex Sharp for Best Leading Actor in a Play.
An American in Paris and Fun Home lead the total nominations with 12 apiece, followed by Something Rotten! with 10 nominations.
John Cameron Mitchell will be presented with the Special Tony Award, while Wicked composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz will receive the Isabelle Stevenson Award.
According to TheWrap, Tony-related snubs included Matthew Morrison ( Finding Neverland ), Glenn Close ( A Delicate Balance ), Tyne Daly ( It Shoulda Been You ), Vanessa Hudgens ( Gigi ), Hugh Jackman ( The River ), Nathan Lane ( It's Only a Play ), Ewan McGregor ( The Real Thing ), and the two Gyllenhaals, Maggie ( The Real Thing ) and Jake ( Constellations ).
Alan Cumming and Kristin Chenoweth will co-host this year's Tony Awards on Sunday, June 7, at the Radio City Music Hall in New York. CBS will air the event live.
