The Southern drama The Help won three awards Jan. 29 at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The movie won for best ensemble, best actress for Viola Davis and best supporting actress for Octavia Spencer. Spencer is the Oscar front-runner in her category, while Davis is neck-and-neck with Meryl Streep, who won the Golden Globe for her role in The Iron Lady.
The Artist's Jean Dujardin won for best actor and Christopher Plummer won for best supporting actor for his role as a gay 75-year-old widower in Beginners.
On the television side, Modern Family won for best comedy ensemble and Boardwalk Empire took the drama-ensemble award. Betty White, 90, won for best actress in a comedy series for her role in Hot in Cleveland, while Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) won for best comedy actorfor the sixth consecutive year. Boardwalk Empire's Steve Buscemi won for best actor in a drama while Jessica Lange won for American Horror Story.
