A Memorial Day weekend to remember!
Congrats to Ramien Pierre, our new International Mr. Leather 36. Ramien comes to us from Washington, D.C. and beat out 45 other contestants to clinch the coveted title. Check out Verdell Shannon's always-stunning photo coverage on page 17. Plus, as we went to press late Sunday night, grab this week's Windy City Times for even more coverage, including Anthony Meade's stunning shots of the Victory Party at House of Blues.
And a shout-out to the bears of Bear Pride XX. Some double-X action went down at Furball and all around town.
Elsewhere, say hi to Rogers Park's newest ( and only ) vintage lounge Rogers Park Social. Occupying the former Sidecar spot, RPS brings a curated '60s vibe with couches, communal tables, and cocktails crafted from fresh-squeezed fruit juices. Coincidentally, it smells great in there. So stop in to see Wally, Eric, William, and all the shining faces of Rogers Park Social at 6920 N. Glenwood Ave.
Happy 17th anniversary to the crew at Scot's. Always a class act in there.
Did you catch the season finale of RuPaul's Drag Race at Spin? Judging by the photos, you did, because the place was packed with well-wishers, including a certain tilapia, who was out of face but by no means out of place.
She'll put her mug on, though, when she appears at Roscoe's June 4, for the official Season Six tour, along with winner Bianca Del Rio, Darienne Lake, Milk, Adore Delano, and many more. So get sixy on the 4th! I know I'll be there, along with my 21-year-old niece, who is obsessed. Getting serious cool gay uncle points for this one!
Happy Andersonville Midsommarfest and Milwaukee Pridefest to you all. Shit, this summer's already in full swing. Swing out, sister!
