'Sand Blast' at Atlantic City July 17-19

The gay summer-beach event "Sand Blast" will return to Atlantic City, New Jersey, on July 17-19.

The first of the weekend's 13 events kicks off on Friday, July 17, with its traditional beach day located at the gay beach directly in front of The Claridge, the host hotel. That evening, from 7-9 p.m., Club 11 within the Claridge hosts a social cocktail hour where guests can mix and mingle before the big welcome party, "Lost At Sea."

The following day, the will be several activities, including the "Rip Tide" pool party; a women's T-dance hosted by Ladies 2000, inside the Mur.Mur Nightclub; a comedy show featuring famed comedian Margaret Cho; and the "Deep Blue" dance party, among other events.

The last day ( Sunday, July 19 ) will have such events as "Drag Race & Handbag Toss," with Brittany Lynn; the "Sand Blast" beach party; and "Kahuna," at Caesars Dusk Nightclub.

Olivia, R Family produce 2016 Mexican vacation

LGBT-focused businesses Olivia Travel and R Family Vacations announced a partnership to jointly produce a family-and-friends vacation at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

The week-long event will take place July 9-16, 2016. Travel packages at the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta will begin at $1,499 per adult and $399 per child; accommodations include an eight-day/seven-night stay, meals in six restaurants, beverages, and most activities are included in the price. Packages are on sale.
