Dozens of June events helped mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall rebellion at New York's famed gay nightclub. The major events included competing marches on Sunday, June 30, one that was decidedly anti-corporate and pro-marginalized communities, the other very corporate but also with a wide range of speakers representing different parts of the community.
With hundreds of contingents in the larger Stonewall 50 World Pride NYC event, it took many hours for marchers to kick off. Other major events included one in front of the Stonewall Inn. Tens of thousands attended the Reclaim Pride NYC, with millions at World Pride.
