Neil Patrick Harris, Kristin Chenoweth, Jeff Probst, Steven Weber, Kathy Najimy, Camryn Manheim, and many other celebrities will be giving out the clues
Los Angeles, Mar 12, 2010 - Los Angeles Race Fantastique ( "LARF" ) , a scavenger- hunt race production company, is producing a fundraiser in favor of Marriage Equality on April 18, 2010. Working in teams of 4 or 5, players will race around Los Angeles to defeat a fictional Ballot Proposition, deciphering clues provided primarily through videos featuring a wide variety of celebrities, including Neil Patrick Harris, Kristin Chenoweth, Jeff Probst, Steven Weber, and others.
Bob Glouberman, Co-founder of LARF, says "We thought it would be fun to engage racers in a satirical look at the inequality created by California's Proposition 8 by focusing on a completely fictitious Ballot Measure 'Prop 8A' that would prevent our hero, conveniently named 'LARF,' from marrying. It's going to be a great interactive experience. Racers will get a unique combination of three elements: a humorous look at the subject matter, brain-busting clues, and an amazing array of celebrities in the filmed clues."
The Williams Institute
Proceeds from the April 18th event will be donated to the Williams Institute at UCLA Law School. The Institute, a non-partisan think tank dedicated to providing research, ideas, education, and information on sexual orientation law and public policy, has been widely cited in the national media, and has trained thousands of lawyers, judges and members of the public. "We're really grateful to LARF for their generous offer to produce this race," says Williams Institute Executive Director Brad Sears. "We appreciate the humor and spirit of the race they're putting together, and welcome the opportunity to introduce the Williams Institute to a whole new group of individuals who may not have thought about the harm caused by false stereotypes and misinformation about same-sex couples and their families. And, since much of our work is serious and academic, it'll be great to have the LARF race infuse a little levity into the discussions."
Celebrity Clue-Givers
Celebrities involved in the race include Neil Patrick Harris, Kristin Chenoweth, Jeff Probst, Steven Weber, Kathy Najimy, Camryn Manheim, Anthony LaPaglia,Kelli Williams, Rachel Harris, Michael Hitchcock, Tim Bagley, Lisa Loeb, Kyle Gass, Martin Starr, Mike White, Jennifer Elise Cox, Jillian Armanante, Joanna Garcia, and some additional surprise guests. |
