If you missed the Goodman Theatre's one-night-only reading of Academy Award-winner Dustin Lance Black's (left) gay marriage play 8 this past January, then you have another chance to see this timely drama about the federal trial to overturn California's Proposition 8. The Oak Park Area Lesbian & Gay Association (OPALGA) presents another one-night-only reading of 8 with artistic assistance provided by Oak Park Festival Theatre, Circle Theatre and 16th Street Theater. The reading features Megan Cavanagh (Exes and Ohs, A League of Their Own) playing anti-gay marriage campaigner Maggie Gallagher and WGN-TV entertainment reporter Dean Richards as Judge Vaughn Walker. The reading will be followed by a discussion of the marriage-equality debate in Illinois and the rest of the country. 8 plays at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at the Arts Center of Oak Park/The Ernest Hemingway Museum, 200 N. Oak Park Ave., Oak Park. Tickets are $10-$20; visit opalga.org .
