If you grew up in America you've probably been called a slut...or called someone a slut. If you're a girl, it was probably both. "Slutiness" is practically a rite of passage in all of our lives from adolescence to adulthood and it is women who are most often the target of slut shaming and sexual judgment that often leads to assault and violence. F#CK THAT NOISE.
In collaboration with The Smear Campaign, Harold Washington College professor and feminist performer Alicia Swiz ( popgoesalicia.com ) will host a rad cast of Chicago stand-ups and storytellers who will perform about their experiences with being a slut. An audience Q&A and dialogue with the performers will follow.
Line-up: Carly Oishi, Britt Julious, Stefania Rudd, Alex Kumin & Brittany Meyer
Misfit29 Studios will be in house documenting the event and snapping photos of guests puckering up in one of three lipsticks by The Smear Campaign — all of which will be available for purchase.
Date: Wednesday February 10th 2016
Time: 8 PM
Location: East Room, Logan Square, 2345 N Milwaukee Ave.
$10 cover: Tickets available online.
50% of proceeds will be donated to A Long Walk Home, Inc.
