1. The Official Website of E. Lynn Harris
(www.randomhouse.com/features/elynnharris/home.html): The bestselling Black gay author finally has his own special site! Peruse his inspiring biography, read excerpts from his books (including Not a Day Goes By and Invisible Life), get the latest tour info, and even e-mail E. Lynn.
2. Chicago Transgender
(www.chicagotransgender.com/): Okay, girls—here you go. This site has everything to help the Windy City drag queen on the go, conveniently divided into five categories: shopping, community, people, resources, and other things. You'll find everything from online clubs to support groups to (thankfully) makeup tips.
3. Grinding Tofu: Coming Out (www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/4289/): According to the home page, 'Grinding Tofu is the literal translation of the Chinese word for lesbian.' This description is pretty apt since the site investigates the gay Chinese-American scene. Read the biographies of the five students who started the site and find out about recommended readings. There's also a page of resources.
4. The International Two Spirit Gathering Website [Native American] (www.itsg.20m.com/): First you learned about grinding tofu—and now you'll learn about the 'two spirit' concept. The term 'two spirit' refers to native people who are usually labeled GLBT. Hopefully, you can take a look at the photo page (which actually was still under construction in early May). However, the big news involves the 2004 Gathering (complete with sacred fires and sunrise ceremonies), which will take place July 29-August 3 in Montana. You can find out how to register at www.geocities.com/twospirit_gathering2004/ .
