Republican wunderkind Aaron Schock is seemingly aiming to be Illinois' next governor, according to the National Journal.
Last week, the 31-year-old Congressman from Peoria met with top officials at the Republican Governors Association in Washington, to discuss the possibility of running for Illinois's top job in 2014.
"He's made it pretty clear to a lot of donors," one Illinois Republican said. "That's common knowledge around here."
The publication speculated that Schock would have a good chance against the current governor, Democrat Pat Quinn. A Chicago Tribune/WGN-TV poll conducted Oct. 4-8 among 700 likely voters in Illinois showed Quinn's approval rating at 26 percent.
