Full Spectrum Features will present Take Me to Church, a one time sneak peek in blasphemous live performances by cast and crew of scenes from the forthcoming film Holy Trinity. The event will take place Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 8:30 p.m. at the Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia Ave., Chicago.
In the film, a queer girl named Trinity huffs the contents of a magic aerosol can and develops the ability to speak to the dead. Throughout her spiritual journey, she learns from priest, drag queens, club kids, sex workers, a reiki practitioner and a witch. All of the characters in the film hail from Chicago's LGBTQ community and many express alternative forms of sexuality and lifestyles, namely, BDSM and sex work. This movie is not just about queer people; it is made by and for queer people.
General admission will be $10, VIP $40.
Molly Hweitt is a writer, director, performance and drag artist. She has been writing Holy Trinity for almost three years. The film is largely based on her experiences in Chicago and the people she has met hence most of the characters playing themselves. She is also playing the character of Trinity.
Full Spectrum Features is a Chicago-based nonprofit committed to increasing diversity in the media arts by producing, exhibiting, and supporting the work of women, LGBTQ, and minority filmmakers.
