Safe Schools hosts 'Geography Club' film screenings

Illinois Safe Schools Alliance, in partnership with the Adlai E. Stevenson High School's Gay Straight Alliance, Baker & McKenzie LLP and LINKS Pride Youth Program, host a special screening of the new film, Geography Club, with a talk back by the producers of the film immediately following.

Geography Club Movie Preview 5-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, Stevenson High School, 1 Stevenson Dr., Lincolnshire.
Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Brent Hartinger, this comedy tackles issues of acceptance, love, and LGBTQ youth in an American high school. It tells a story of a group of young people who step out of the box and form a support club for youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Scheduled for wide release on Nov. 15, these two screenings give youth and adults the opportunity to be the first to see this groundbreaking film. Register online for either event at www.geographyclubillinois.eventbrite.com/ .
The film stars Nikki Blonsky, Cameron Deane Stewart, Justin Deeley, Alex Newell, Ana Gasteyer, Meaghan Martin, Scott Bakua and Allie Gonino. |
