It's difficult to see where the puppets end and the people begin in Plexis Polaire's Chambre noire. The trippy mesh of puppetry, music and live action is part of Chicago's International Puppet Festival, which includes dozens of productions featuring artists from 11 countries performing on 19 venues throughout the city. ( The French/Norwegian Chambre noire piece deals with the shooting of Andy Warhol. ) The festival runs through Jan. 27; visit www.chicagopuppetfest.org .
