SPIRITUALITY: Happy Holidays

Hi There. A lot has happened with me over the past year, all of it life altering. I've decided that I am no longer buying into the concept of positive and negative. I will look at every situation from now on as just that ... a situation. Not a problem or a 'woe is me' topic, but a situation to be accepted for what it is and dealt with in the NOW. To learn from right here and right now, and to then let it go. Thus taking the necessary steps to remain fully present, in the moment.

Will you join me?

As we know, this month is the month that we all sit down and write out our New Year's Resolutions. We make promises to ourselves that we end up throwing to the side by the end of January. Some of these promises are the same promises that we make year after year. Why is that? Why do you think we continue to complain about the way things are and our need to change them, yet we still do not make a change?

What is it about our 'programming' that continues to hold us in the same patterns? Is it possible that as much as we say we do not like this or we won't tolerate that, that we are actually addicted to that particular thing? Is it possible, maybe, just maybe, that there could be a chemical connection between our emotions and our body? Is this way of thinking too radical for you to wrap your mind around? Stick with me a little longer, you just might be inspired to take a closer look at yourself.

In my quest for MY truth, I have done a lot of research on the mind/body/spirit connection. What would you say if I told you that for every emotion there was a biochemical reaction that took place in your body? What if it has been scientifically proven that just as we can become addicted to a drug, smoking or coffee, etc., we can also be addicted to the chemical that is released from a certain emotion? Would the way you look at yourself and others change?

I know some of you have been so programmed into believing what society would want you to believe that you can hardly begin to accept what I am telling you. Know that your rejection is your personality's way of ensuring that you do not find, and therefore learn from, the truth. In learning and accepting this possibility you will begin to understand and have the tools you need to kick your 'emotional addictive' behavior.

What if I told you that there was a movie that would give you a synopsis of what I am speaking of here? What if I could direct you to a Web site that would give you plenty information and the titles of the same books that I am currently reading to open your eyes and your 'Mind's-eye' to the probability and possibility of freedom from the oppression that you have been programmed to place on yourself? Would you allow your mind to tell you that I am too radical? That I must have lost MY mind? Well I have ... intentionally!

Curious? Unfortunately, my time and space has run out here. However, you can log on to the Web site: www.purrfectharmonyinc.com and click on Founder's Words to read the remainder of this article. If you like, you can also send me an e-mail and I will add you to the monthly newsletter. Don't forget to sign up on the home page to receive your FREE 5-Day eCourse on getting in touch with your authentic self. You might be surprised at what you uncover.

Until then ... seek to live your life by being Purrfectly Authenticâ„¢.

Latina Lesbian

Elected Dallas Sheriff

A lesbian Latina has been elected to office in Texas—as Dallas County sheriff.

'Democrat Lupe Valdez, 57, is the first woman elected sheriff in the county,' the Houston Chronicle reported. 'Valdez, a 28-year federal agent who worked on fraud, organized crime and drug cases, said her election proved Dallas County is an international county welcoming people of all backgrounds.

'Look at this room,' she said at a victory rally. 'All ethnic groups, all walks of life, rich or poor, gay or straight, whatever, we are an international town and this is what I bring to this.'

Nigerian president has homophobic outburst

Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo called homosexuality unnatural Oct. 27.

He was speaking in support of African Anglicans' denunciations of Gene Robinson, the gay bishop of the Episcopal diocese of the U.S. state of New Hampshire.

'I wholeheartedly salute the wisdom, courage and resilience of African bishops within the Anglican Communion for standing so firmly against attempts to undermine our faith and falsify God's will and the word of God,' Obasanjo told a meeting of African bishops in Lagos, Nigeria.

'Such tendencies are clearly unbiblical, unnatural and definitely un-African,' he said.

GLBTs march in Taipei

About 2,000 GLBTS marched in the gay-pride parade in Taipei, Taiwan, Nov. 6.

Some carried signs demanding access to marriage. A bill to open marriage to same-sex couples, drafted by the Cabinet, awaits action in Parliament.

Italians oppose

same-sex marriage

Only 32 percent of Italians support same-sex marriage and only 21 percent support gay adoption, according to a Eurisko poll conducted for La Repubblica newspaper, which published the results in its Nov. 7 issue.

The poll also found that three-quarters of Italians are OK with unmarried couples living together and 63 percent are fine with divorce.
