Out actor Matt Bomer stars in the movie Papi Chulo, out June 7, a press release noted. The plot focuses on a newly single, gay TV weatherman ( Bomer ) who is put on leave following an on-air meltdown; gradually, he develops a friendship with a middle-aged day laborer named Ernesto ( Alejandro Patino ). The movie co-stars Wendi McLendon-Covey ( TV's The Goldbergs; Bridesmaids ) and D'Arcy Carden ( TV's The Good Place ). Written and directed by gay Irish filmmaker John Butler ( Handsome Devil ), Papi Chulo premiered last fall at the Toronto International Film Festival, NewNowNext.com noted.

Soccer player Megan Rapinoe has become the first out lesbian to pose for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, according to NBC News. The striker was joined by fellow national team members Alex Morgan, Abby Dahlkemper and Crystal Dunn for the spread. Last year, Rapinoe and her girlfriend, WNBA basketball star Sue Bird, became the first same-sex couple to be featured on the cover of ESPN's Body Issue. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue debuted in 1964.

Model Caron Bernstein—who has accused photographer Terry Richardson of sexual assault—said that Tom Ford's defense of Richardson in a recent New York Times profile is "a f—king crap use of his power, and his platform and frankly socially irresponsible," Page Six noted. And she told Page Six that Ford's remarks should disqualify him from becoming the next chair of powerful trade group the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Richardson has been sidelined in the industry since the beginning for the #MeToo movement, with publishing powerhouses Conde Nast and Hearst blacklisting him.

MTV has revealed nominees for the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards, which this year are set to air June 17 from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, Deadline noted. Just a few of the nominees include Avengers: Endgame, Riverdale, Game of Thrones, Lady Gaga, Amandla Stenberg, Elisabeth Moss, Serena Williams, RBG, Rami Malek, Josh Brolin, The Bachelor, Lupita Nyong'o, Awkwafina and Zachary Levi. Levi ( Shazam; TV's Chuck ) will host the event.

Everything But The Girl announced their million-selling seventh studio album, Amplified Heart, will appear for the first time on vinyl on July 5 as a special 25th-anniversary edition, mastered at London's Abbey Road Studios, a press release noted. The original 1994 release of Amplified Heart saw Todd Terry's remix of "Missing" added as a bonus 11th track on later CD runs; however, this new vinyl edition is faithful to the original 10-track running order. The LP is now available for pre-order at https://unmaderoad.com/products/everything-but-the-girl-amplified-heart-vinyl-lp.

Lesbian singer Brandi Carlile is one of the nominees for the 2019 Americana Awards, a press release noted. This recognition adds to an already monumental year for Carlile, who is also nominated for two awards at the 2019 CMT Music Awards: Female Video of the Year ( "The Joke" ) and CMT Performance of the Year ( "( You Make Me Feel Like ) A Natural Woman" with Maren Morris from 2018 CMT Artists of the Year ); the awards ceremony will broadcast live on CMT from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on June 5. The Americana Music Association Honors & Awards will take place Sept. 11 at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts hosted "An Evening of Wicked Fun Honoring Stephen Schwartz, a Spring Celebration" fundraising event presented by the House of Harry Winston, highlighting the work of the award-winning composer/lyricist of classic musicals including Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Enchanted and more, a press release noted. The evening featured performances from artists including Idina Menzel, Megan Hilty, Andrea Martin, Liz Callaway, Angel Blue, Isaiah Johnson, Jordan Fisher, the Los Angeles Children's Chorus and many others. Additional special guests in attendance included Debbie Allen, Briga Heelan, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, Cinco Paul, Shonda Rhimes, John Rubinstein and more.

A new interview with Britney Spears' longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, calls into question whether her canceled Las Vegas Domination residency will resume in the future, USA Today noted. Rudolph—who managed Spears from 1998 to 2004 and then again from 2008 to the present—spoke with TMZ about Spears' current status, sharing that she hasn't been in contact with him about returning to the road. Spears has had a tumultuous 2019; Rudolph claimed that Spears had been eager to tour last year, but that she hasn't contacted him in recent months.

Actresses Milla Jovovich and Jameela Jamil are revealing their past abortions in the wake of new abortion legislation in Georgia and Alabama they call "inhumane" and "draconian," USA Today reported. Jovovich wrote on Instagram, in part, "When I think about the fact that women might have to face abortions in even worse conditions than I did because of new laws, my stomach turns. I spiraled into one of the worst depressions of my life and had to work extremely hard to find my way out." In a series of tweets, Jamil, who stars on NBC's The Good Place, said, "I had an abortion when I was young, and it was the best decision I have ever made. Both for me, and for the baby I didn't want, and wasn't ready for, emotionally, psychologically and financially."

On a related note, celebrities are outraged over Alabama's near-total abortion ban, which was signed into law, Page Six noted. Lady Gaga led the chorus of furious stars, sending her prayers to all the women and young girls in the state "who will suffer at the hands of this system." Captain America star Chris Evans ripped the legislation as "absolutely unbelievable." Director Ava DuVernay called on people to "speak up" about the law.

Musician Moby has a new memoir, Then It Fell Apart, that chronicles his ascent into fame and descent into addiction and debauchery, Men's Health noted. ( The book's title are the lyrics from one such song, 2002's "Extreme Ways," which encapsulated much of Moby's drug-fueled life of the late '90s and early '00s. ) Moby said he hopes that writing these moments helps make sharing easier, both for himself and for his audience.

Wanda Sykes criticized The Bachelor franchise while talking with Entertainment Tonight. "It's just annoying and also promotes bad behavior and it just makes women look stupid," she said of the ABC dating series. "It does! All these women after all this, just one sorry dude—you know, really? Come on! I've just had enough of the silliness." Sykes' special, Not Normal, will premiere in late May.

Uzo Aduba, Rose Byrne, Kayli Carter, Ari Graynor, Melanie Lynskey, James Marsden, Margo Martindale, Sarah Paulson, John Slattery, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Tracey Ullman have signed on to the FX series Mrs. America, Deadline reported. They join previously announced Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning actress Cate Blanchett. Mrs. America tells the true story of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, and the unexpected backlash led by a conservative woman named Phyllis Schlafly, played by Blanchett. The nine episodes will premiere on FX in 2020.

Netflix has set a June 5 premiere date for Black Mirror's three-story fifth season, with Anthony Mackie and Miley Cyrus among the cast in the stand-alone episodes, Deadline noted. Also featured in the season-five cast are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport and Ludi Lin. All three episodes will launch June 5 on the streaming service.

In November 2018, The Doobie Brothers returned to the Beacon Theatre for the first time in 25 years to perform two of their landmark albums, Toulouse Street and The Captain And Me—and both audio and video of that special performance are now set for release on June 28 via Rhino, a press release noted. The Doobie Brothers: Live From The Beacon Theatre will be available in 2CD ( $19.98 ) 2CD/DVD ( $34.98 ) and Blu-ray ( $24.99 ) versions. The Doobie Brothers are back on the road again this year and will join Santana for an extensive summer tour across the United States; visit TheDoobieBrothers.com .

Emmy-winning creator/writer/actor Lena Waithe is teaming with ATTN: on Girls Room—an original scripted series as part of Dove's Self-Esteem Project for young women, Deadline.com noted. Written by Waithe, the anthology-style series will explore the pain and power of female adolescence as told through the eyes of an inter-connected group of girls. It is currently in production and set to premiere in early 2020.

Sons of an Illustrious Father—composed of actor/singer Ezra Miller and bandmates Lilah Larson and and Josh Aubi—have covered the 2005 Pussycat Dolls hit "Don't Cha," Queerty noted. In the video, the band and others are in makeup and black leotards while dancing to a darker version of the original. Miller said, "This grating and harsh aspect of the cover's composition was another idea we had somehow agreed upon and solidified before ever even playing the song." The band's 2018 album—Deus Sex Machina: or, Moving Slowly Beyond Nikola Tesla—included the song "U.S. Gay," which was written in response to the Pulse Nightclub shooting.

Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey has finally received his high school diploma—more than 30 years after graduating, Page Six noted. McConaughey was given his original diploma when he returned to his Texas alma mater to address the class of 2019. A Longview High School spokeswoman told the Longview News-Journal that graduates normally receive diploma holders during commencement ceremonies and that the actual diplomas must be picked up later—adding that McConaughey never got his.

Disney-ABC's game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has been canceled after 17-years in syndication and 22 years overall, Deadline.com noted. It premiered Aug. 16, 1999, and ran through June 27, 2002, with Regis Philbin as host. Later hosts included Cedric the Entertainer, Terry Crews and, most recently, The Bachelor franchise's Chris Harrison. The show announced last fall that it had given away more than $100 million in total winnings since its syndicated debut in 2002.

Mercedes-Benz was on hand to celebrate the 78th Annual Peabody Awards and honor the legendary Rita Moreno with the Peabody Career Achievement Award, presented by Mercedes-Benz, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York, a press release noted. Ronan Farrow hosted the event, which honored excellence and meritorious work by radio and television stations, networks, webcasters, podcasters, producing organizations and individuals.

DreamWorks Animation has locked in Oscar winner Geena Davis for a recurring guest role on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power—the GLAAD- and Emmy-nominated Netflix original series that returns Aug. 2 with its season-three adventures, Deadline noted. Davis voices a character named Huntara, the imposing de facto leader of the Crimson Waste, who reluctantly helps Adora, Glimmer and Bow on a quest.

Tiffany Haddish has found her next regular gig, as the comedian/actress will host and be executive producer of ABC's Kids Say the Darndest Things revival, Ebony.com revealed. A version of the series hosted by Bill Cosby aired from 1998-2000 on CBS.

Two of ABC's venerable reality franchises will be returning, as Dancing With the Stars has been renewed for a 28th season and The Bachelor for season 24, Deadline noted. The 23rd season of The Bachelor featured 26-year-old Colton Underwood, a former professional football player and charity founder from Washington, Illinois.

An actor who allegedly choked Paris Jackson and accused fellow movie star Seth Green of pedophilia took his own life when he fatally plunged from an Arizona bridge, according to Page Six. Isaac Kappy, 42—who has several small roles in Thor, Terminator Salvation and Beerfest—forced himself off the Transwestern Road bridge, Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves told the Arizona Daily Sun. Kappy had posted on Instagram, "Beware the man that has nothing to lose, for he has nothing to protect."

Vampire Weekend landed its third number-one album on the Billboard 200, with Father of the Bride—but became the first act to do so with no Top 100 hits, Billboard.com noted. The alt-rock group first topped the Billboard 200 with its 2010 sophomore effort Contra and led again with Modern Vampires of the City in 2013. Father of the Bride, notably, debuts with the biggest week ( in both units and sales ) for a rock album in 2019.

Chris Rock is teaming with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures for a fresh imagination on the next Saw movie, Deadline noted. Lionsgate has dated the film for an Oct. 23, 2020, release. "I've been a fan of Saw since the first film in 2004," said Rock. "I am excited by the opportunity to take this to a really intense and twisted new place."

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced The Shining—Stanley Kubrick's 1980 horror masterpiece—will be released on Ultra HD Blu-ray and Digital on Oct. 1, according to Movieweb. On May 17, the restored 4K version of The Shining screened at The Cannes Film Festival. Last year, The Shining was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Legendary singer Dionne Warwick has released her new album, She's Back ( Kind Music/Entertainment One ), a press note stated. The album features ten tracks of new songs as well of remakes of pop/soul gems, and features duets with Kenny Lattimore ( "What Color Is Love" ), Musiq Soulchild ( "Am I Dreaming?" ), Brian McKnight ( "Forever in My Heart" ) and more. The album includes a special bonus disc of Warwick's 1998 album, Dionne Sings Dionne, which features her greatest hits remastered for that package.

NBC has given a three-season renewal to its flagship drama series This Is Us, taking it through a sixth season, Deadline noted. While not unprecedented, the size of the order is very rare and only reserved for the biggest hits on television. CBS' The Big Bang Theory most recently received a three-season pickup in 2014.

A longtime producer for The Wendy Williams Show, Talia Parkinson-Jones, is moving on to Tamron Hall's new show, Page Six revealed. Parkinson-Jones, a co-executive producer for Williams' show, will co-executive-produce Hall's upcoming daytime gabfest with The View veteran Bill Geddie, as well as former Today anchor Hall. Meanwhile, Williams plans to dissolve the Hunter Foundation, which she launched with estranged husband Kevin Hunter to help those battling substance abuse.

Jada Pinkett Smith admitted she once had a problem with pornography, according to US Weekly. In a new episode of her Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk, the Girls Trip star discussed the topic with two of the most unlikely guests: her mother, Adrienne Banfield Norris, and her daughter, Willow Smith. Jada clarified that her days of watching porn were long before she married husband Will Smith in 1997.

Aaron Carter has joined the cast of WE tv's Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition, along with his mother, Jane Carter, to deal with harboring feelings of resentment and betrayal, US Weekly noted. In a new interview conducted after the show, the actor/singer revealed the counseling he received in Boot Camp helped him work through his complex relationship with the late Michael Jackson, adding the late King of Pop was "a little bit inappropriate" with him once.

Tyler, The Creator is releasing his new album, a press release noted. IGOR arrives via Columbia Records and marks his first full-length release since his 2017 Grammy-nominated album Flower Boy. The album follows Tyler sharing multiple teasers.

Blac Chyna had a falling-out with her hairdresser, and the feud has made Chyna a suspect in an assault with a deadly weapon, Page Six noted. TMZ reported that Chyna allegedly threatened her hairstylist with a knife during a fight at her San Fernando Valley home. Chyna reportedly denied pulling a knife and claimed the hairdresser threw soda cans at her car upon leaving.

Appearing on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Paris Hilton was asked to say three nice things about Lohan during the show's "Plead the Fifth" segment—but nstead of passing on the question, the heiress took on the challenge, shading the MTV reality star in the process, Page Six noted. "She's … beyond," Hilton said, adding that Lohan is "lame" and "embarrassing."
