In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Eddie Murphy seemed to express some regretor at least shock at his own audacitywhen asked if his '80s comedy ( which contained numerous anti-gay jokes ) was still funny to him, The New York Post noted. "Some of it. Some of it, I cringe when I watch," he said. "I'm, like, 'Oh, my GodI can't believe I said that!'" Indya Moorethe transgender actress who plays sex worker Angel Evangelista in Ryan Murphy's ballroom drama Posehas been revealed as the voice of Shep, a non-binary character introduced in Steven Universe: Future, LGBTQ Nation noted. "Future" is the newly premiered continuation of Cartoon Network's queer-inclusive sci-fi cartoon series Steven Universe. In addition to "Future" and Pose, Moore has also been cast in the upcoming horror flick Escape Room 2.
Trans actress Josie Totah has been cast as the lead in streamer Peacock's Saved by the Bell sequel, The Hollywood Reporter noted. Totah will also be credited as a producer on the show. Original stars Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley will reprise their roles as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano, respectively, in the comedy that explores what happens when California Gov. Zack Morris ( Mark-Paul Gosselaar's role ) gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools and proposes the affected students be sent to the highest-performing schools in the stateincluding Bayside High. Despite recent reports, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige did not intend to confirm that a transgender character will appear in an upcoming film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Variety reported. While Feige's answer in a guest lecture series for the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles appeared to respond to the specific question about a trans character, two sources close to the studio tell Variety that Feige only intended to respond to the first part about LGBT+ characters, and he did not mean to imply that a trans character will be coming to the MCU "very soon."

Charley Pride: I'm Just Mea documentary about the life and career of legendary countrymusic singer Charley Pride, debuted on CBC's documentary Channel Jan. 1 and will run again Feb. 2, a press release noted. Narrated by country music icon Tanya Tucker, the 78-minute film traces Pride's improbable journey, from his humble beginnings as a sharecropper's son on a cotton farm in segregated Sledge, Mississippi, to his career as a Negro League baseball player and his meteoric rise as a trailblazing country-music superstar. Golden Globe-winning actress Sharon Stone revealed she was bumped from the dating site Bumble because other users had reported her profile, thinking it was fake, CNN.com noted. "I went on the @bumble dating sight [sic] and they closed my account," she tweeted. Nick Gordon, the former boyfriend of Bobbi Kristina Brown, has died at age 30three years after he was found liable for her death, CNN.com reported. Gordon was taken in by Whitney Houston when he was 12 years old and raised alongside the singer's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Gordon and Brown became romantically involved after Houston's death in 2012, and tensions between the Gordon and Houston families over the relationship were part of the storyline on Lifetime's short-lived reality show The Houstons: On Our Own. Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub in January 2015; she remained in a coma until her death six months later.

Tootsie actress Teri Garr was hospitalized but is doing "fine," according to her rep, Page Six noted. Her rep told ET Canada, "Teri is fine. She had some confusion which it turns out was caused by dehydration. To be cautious, they are keeping her overnight and she'll be home tomorrow. I spoke to her and she sounds good." Rapper Lil Wayne faced potential charges after federal agents searched his private jet in Miami, and found at least one handgun and drugs, The Miami Herald noted. The gun also qualified as blinga gold-plated .45 caliber handgun with a pearl grip. As for the drugs, agents found MDMA in pill and crystal form as well as weed, cocaine and heroin in the bag; however, the quantity of each drug was not immediately known.
