Staking a claim in what some say is an almost non-existent power breakfast scene in the Loop is Rosebud Prime ( 1 S. Dearborn St.; RosebudRestaurants.com ).
Rosebud Prime is already pretty popular for lunch and dinnerand now it's serving breakfast 8-10:30 a.m. on Monday through Friday.
Among the options are three different eggs Benedicts ( traditional, filet and Maryland crab cake ), all of which are served with jalapeno hash browns. In addition, there are items such as vanilla crunch French toast and the oatmeal brulee.
I have to warn you that the servings are pretty sizeable. The filet Benedict I had was expertly cooked, and I still had enough to take home. My dining companionwho can consume some large amounts of foodonly made it through two of the four French toast slices, which he found delicious.
Rosebud Prime may need to open a little bit earlier to accommodate certain diners before their 9 a.m. shifts startbut the breakfast menu is certainly worth a visit.
Taste of Andersonville Aug. 10
