Red Stars Hosting LGBT Night on July 10
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2010-07-03

Special ticket offer includes post-game meet-and-greet with players; funds raised benefit Lesbian Community Care Project

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- The Chicago Red Stars of Women's Professional Soccer are hosting LGBT Night ( Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender ) on July 10 at Toyota Park, when the Red Stars face defending WPS champion Sky Blue FC at 6 p.m. The Red Stars are holding an exclusive post-game meet-and-greet with players from both Chicago and Sky Blue.

Windy City Media, the Lesbian Community Care Project and the Red Stars are teaming up to raise money for LCCP, which promotes healthcare, advocacy, public education, research and programming toward the lesbian community.

If you cannot take part in the July 10 match and post-game opportunity, the Red Stars are extending their special pricing toward the LGBT community and the LCCP donation throughout the team's remaining five regular-season matches at Toyota Park.

"We are pleased to be partnering again this year with Windy City Media and LCCP to host this event at our Red Stars game on July 10," Red Stars President and General Manager Marcia McDermott said. "It will not just be a fun evening of world-class soccer and socializing, but it will also benefit an important organization in the Chicago community."

Tickets for the July 10 match include a pass to the meet-and-greet with WPS players for autographs, photos and chit-chat. Special group rates apply for eight or more people. To take part in the first-ever LGBT Night, contact the Chicago Red Stars at 708-496-9500. For more information about the Red Stars, visit www.ChicagoRedStars.com .

Through the 2010 WPS All-Star Game, which took place on June 30, the Red Stars have posted a 3-5-3 record and a fifth-place position in the WPS standings. But the Red Stars have headed into July with a strong 2-1-2 mark over their past five matches and are looking to make a playoff push.
