Los Angeles, CA — Such Good People, an upcoming screwball comedy about greed and jealousy, has launched a Kickstarter campaign.

In addition to Michael Urie (Ugly Betty and Partners) and Randy Harrison (Queer as Folk), the cast is a who's who of gay icons: comedian Alec Mapa, Lance Bass (*NSYNC), Bree Turner (Grimm), Jon Polito (Miller's Crossing), Drew Droege (Chlo Sevigny videos), Mitch Silpa (Bridesmaids), and legendary character actress, Sandra Bernhard.

The comedy, about a gay couple (Urie & Harrison) who find a million dollars while housesitting, has already received significant social media buzz, with over 15,000 Twitter and facebook followers worldwide. It is the latest project from acclaimed indie director Stewart Wade (Coffee Date and Tru Loved) and screenwriter David Michael Barrett (Bad Actress). Veteran producer Richard Bever (Wish Me Away and The Squid and the Whale) is on board to exec produce.

"The thing that's so exciting to all of us about this project is that the 'gay' aspect of the movie is entirely incidental to the plot," says Wade. "The movie just happens to be about a gay couple off on an adventure together, like an old school Hollywood screwball comedy. And frankly, I believe this is the future of gay cinema, where gay characters are not only — or totally — defined by their sexuality." Barrett adds, "They are just a couple who want what everyone wants: Home, family, and a fabulous house in the hills. And they are just as smart — or otherwise — as everyone else in the movie."

More information can be found on the "Such Good People" Kickstarter page at www.kickstarter.com/projects/1873187344/such-good-people Or writer/producer David Michael Barrett can be reached at SuchGoodPeopleMovie@gmail.com .
