Estoy en un avión y que flojera porque aunque me dirijo a un lugar que ofrece fiesta, mi viaje es de negocios y no de lujuria -ujum, ujum- digo, de placer. Pero como la vida es corta y el entusiasmo amplio -y no es urgencia ni tampoco prisa sino todo lo contrario- quisiera contarte algo de lo que pasó en esos dos días.
Todo comenzó justo ahí, en mi asiento de avión ¿Quién sería el pasajero que estaría a mi costado? Tal vez el hombresatzo de carnosos labios que estaba también en la sala de abordar, o el señor de traje que hundido en su lectura respondió un amable 'salud' a mi fingido estornudo ¿Quién? ¿Quién sería mi galán afortunado? Mientras todos los pasajeros tomaban sus lugares vi a lo lejos a una persona de colosal corpulencia, de raza negra, con libras y libras que se movían de un lado a otro por el pasillo, pasaron solo segundos y ¡Oh dios! no lo podía creer, se había sentado justo a mi lado ocupando la mitad de mi asiento y respirando agitadamente. El hombre me hizo conversación luego que yo tuve mis 5 minutos de berrinche, su platica me llevó a entender de su propia boca lo inconfortable que resulta para el mismo llevar una vida 'normal' en un mundo que rechaza lo que es diferente -y no solo se refería a su enorme complexión física sino también a su color de piel-. Me habló de él, de su familia y de sus hijos, yo le hable de mi y de mis rollos, primero como que se espantó, pero luego terminamos coincidiendo en que lo mejor es aceptar mutuamente las diferencias
Ya estando en Las Vegas no podía reconocer a ningún integrante de la 'familia'. Impaciente y aburrido por no encontrar una sola alma gay con quien charlar en aquel desierto, decidí meterme a un men‚s bathhose que encontré vía internet ¡Sí! tal como oíste, bathhouse, o baño público, o Spa para que se oiga más bonito. Me despojé de mis ropas, me enredé en mi toalla y así entré luego de pagar una buena cuota por no tener la dichosa membresía. Durante mi estancia en el lugar vi de todo. Había también mucha gente en su edad avanzada que me hicieron recordar que si no me caso a los 40 entonces me amarro aunque sea al plomero. En fin, deambulé por horas y ya cansado salí sintiendome como chancla por haber gastado mi dinero y también mi tiempo.
La noche pasaba y cuando me había rendido de todo... ¡Sí! el prototipo llegó, pero para compartir conmigo una noche realmente especial, pero esa... es otra historia.
La sociedad suele relacionar la homosexualidad - o a la gente GLBT- con ser promiscuo, con las drogas, con el alcoholismo, el libertinaje, el VIH y la soledad. Entiendo tal vez que eso es posible pero yo mas bien creo que nada es general en este mundo. El estilo de vida gay se torna así porque a eso nos han orillado... a esconder nuestro amor en chats, bares y lugares clandestinos donde nuestras caras permanecen anonimas a la burla y el rechazo, donde nos confundimos buscando el amor y encontramos solo sexo. A nosotros nos toca cambiar eso y hacernos más visibles, pero en la calle, mostrarnos orgullosos, no es asunto solo de 'la recamara', también es un compromiso social. Reconocernos a nosotros mismos y no seguir engañando a la gente tan solo por complacer a un mundo heterosexualido que no reconoce lo estupendo de la diversidad, cultural, racial... y en este caso, sexual.
No solo los GLBT sino CUALQUIERA pude terminar en un estado desagradable por no actuar con respeto hacia sí mismo y hacia los demás. Entiendo que este 'estilo de vida' no es nada facil pero... a mi me toca -como a todos- disfrutarlo, cuidarme sanamente, divertirme, ligar, conquistar, gritar de felicidad por estar vivo, amar la vida, convencer a mi familia de que soy absolutamente normal y cambiar un destino que fácilmente podría convertirse en uno destructivo, pero que con táctica y amor... bien puedo cambiar.
